Report Fraud or Abuse to LHC
The Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) is committed to ensuring program integrity and the responsible use of federal housing funds. If you suspect fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement within any housing program, we encourage you to report it.
Information to include in your report
To assist us in reviewing your allegation, please provide as much detailed information as possible. Useful details include:
- A description of the alleged misconduct
- How you became aware of the allegation
- How and when the misconduct was discovered
- The amount of money involved (if known)
- How long the alleged misconduct has been occurring
- Any attempts by the alleged violator(s) to conceal the misconduct
- Names, addresses, or identifying information of involved parties
- Any other information you believe may be relevant
Providing detailed and specific information helps ensure a thorough and timely review.
Anonymous Complaints
Anonymous complaints will be investigated if the information received contains specific allegations that can be independently verified. If an anonymous complaint is not specific, the information will be retained in our files but will not be used to initiate an investigation.
Confidentiality
All fraud reports are taken seriously. Information provided will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law. Retaliation against individuals who report suspected fraud in good faith is strictly prohibited.
