Housing Choice Voucher

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is the federal government’s major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.

Shelter Plus Care Program 

The Shelter Plus Care Program provides rental assistance for hard-to-serve homeless persons with disabilities in connection with supportive services funded from sources outside the program.

HUD-VASH Program

The Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veterans Affairs Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) Program provide long-term case management, supportive services and permanent housing support for homeless veterans.

Family self-sufficiency

Family self-sufficiency (FSS) is a HUD program that encourages communities to develop local strategies to help voucher families obtain employment that will lead to economic independence and self-sufficiency.
